Senior Accountant

Job Description:

The Job/What You'll Do:

AssetMark is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Accountant to join our Controllership team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role will work closely with other team members and assist with day-to-day operations of the Company’s accounting function, including month-end close and reporting processes. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, technical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment independently and collaboratively. You will be an integral part of our growing team and must have excellent interpersonal and written communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

This is a full-time position in our Concord, CA office with a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Support the month-end close process for main operating entities, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statements
• Prepare monthly journal entries and account recons related to compensation
• Manage and maintain capitalized software and fixed assets subledger
• Ensure procedures are well documented and completed timely for areas of responsibilities
• Play a key role in optimizing and designing process improvements of the GL accounting system (NetSuite)
• Provide audit-supporting documentation for annual audits
• Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures and internal controls
• Ad hoc projects and analyses as directed by management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls
• Excellent Excel skills, fluent with complex formulas
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and adhere to deadlines in a dynamic and process-oriented environment
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Strong sense of ownership and willingness to tackle challenges in a continuously changing environment

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (with emphasis in Accounting)
• Minimum of 4+ years of general ledger accounting experience in a complex ERP environment
• Experience with full cycle accounting close and preparation of financial statements
• Experience with capitalized software, fixed assets, and compensation
• Active CPA or CPA candidate is preferred
• Accounting experience in a publicly traded company
• Big 4 experience is a plus
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $90,000-$115,000.

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
