Senior Android Engineer (Core Platform)

The Role 

We’re seeking a user-focused Senior Android Engineer to join our Core Platform team. You’ll play a key role in developing Plum on Android, providing our current and prospective customers with a top-tier personalised experience.

How We Work 🙌

We work in squads, small, cross-functional teams with Backend, Android and iOS engineers. As part of the role of Senior Android Engineer you'll be working in the Core Mobile squad that's responsible for providing a seamless developer experience for all the Android engineers in Plum; you'll have a deep impact on how our product teams are able to deliver features to our users

Please note we are following a hybrid work model, in which we visit our office 2 times per week.#LI-Hybrid

• You want to build a product that makes people better off
• You’re excited about programming in Kotlin
• You have knowledge of the Gradle build system
• You are confident configuring CI/CD systems (e.g. Bitrise, GitHub Actions)
• You have Jetpack compose experience
• Yet, you still have intimate knowledge of the full Android stack and Android architecture patterns
• You have a strong understanding of Git strategies, continuous integration setup, and automation
• You want to collaborate on a cutting-edge Android project
• You’re a designer's best friend. You love being part of the planning, implementation and evolution of our Design System which supports the creation of fast and delightful experiences for our users
• You’re a product person too — you understand the value and impact of your work
  

Fist-bumps 👊 if you have

• Fluency in Kotlin programming language
• Published at least one original Android app
• Extensive experience with DI and Android architecture components
• Solid experience with testing (unit, integration, snapshots)
• An eye for design so that you can actively contribute to our Design System
• You’re not afraid to take ownership and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other engineers.
• You’re eager to identify, propose and implement improvements that have an impact across all the Android engineers
• Solid experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
