We are looking for an Senior Azure Data Architect to support our client based in Tallahassee, Florida.
US BASED CANDIDATES ONLY.
Candidates available onsite in Tallahassee, FL are preferred. This role offers flexibility with the option to work remotely. However, candidates should be willing and able to commute to Tallahassee, FL, for occasional onsite meetings and presentations.Â

The project
TECKpert seeks to hire an Senior Azure Data Architect to support our client, a government agency based in Tallahassee, FL. This role involves designing and implementing data architectures, managing large-scale databases, and ensuring data integration and governance across various platforms, primarily in an Azure environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics, SQL, and data governance, alongside experience in managing ETL processes and optimizing data systems for performance and security.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop comprehensive data architectures that support business goals, leveraging Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, and other Azure data services.
- Design, implement, and manage databases using Azure SQL and Azure Managed Instance, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
- Design and manage ETL processes using Synapse Pipelines, ensuring seamless data flow from various sources to the data warehouse.
- Implement data governance and manage the data catalog to ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility.
- Ensure data security, compliance with regulatory standards, and implementation of best practices in data protection.
- Create and maintain scalable data models that represent the organizational data landscape, optimizing them for performance and future growth.
- Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and technical specifications.
- Maintain detailed system documentation and operational procedures.
Compensation and TermÂ
This opportunity is for a full-time, position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $145,000 per year.  Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.Â
Candidates are expected to work onsite at our client’s location.Â
Qualifications you need
A successful Senior Azure Data Architect possesses or provides the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field preferred
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Dedicated SQL Pools, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Managed Instance.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience with advanced T-SQL (DDL/DML), stored procedures, indexing, and database management.
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in designing data architectures and applying data governance principles.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in data integration, large-scale ETL processes, and cloud computing (Azure).
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience with programming languages such as Python or Scala.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience with Salesforce, Message MQ, and MuleSoft (preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing complex data challenges.
- Ability to design scalable and secure data systems.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills to convey technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
