About the Role
At NinjaOne we are passionate about building unified IT solutions that simplify the way IT organizations work. We are currently looking for a Senior Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) to join our SRE team in the Platform Engineering organization and help us scale our products to millions of end-users. We are looking for individuals with a passion for safeguarding the availability, performance and integrity of our databases. You'll be working with the rest of the SRE team, Architects and the application teams to accomplish this.
Location - We are flexible on remote working from home, if you are located in the USA and in one of the following states - TX, CO, FL, CA, NC, GA, CT, ME, KS, NJ, and VA .
What You'll Be Doing:

• Spearhead the assurance of reliability, availability, and peak performance of our AWS-hosted databases, including RDS/Postgres, Elasticache, Aurora, and more.
• Pioneer the establishment of cutting-edge monitoring, observability, alerting, and reporting systems for crucial database metrics.
• Engage in seamless collaboration with application teams, ensuring strict adherence to industry best practices, deployment protocols, and performance benchmarks for all database modifications.
• Actively monitor and fine-tune database performance, providing invaluable support to our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team in capacity planning initiatives.
• Keep your finger on the pulse of the ever-evolving landscape of databases and AWS, staying abreast of the latest advancements and optimal practices.
• Foster seamless coordination with our esteemed AWS account team and pertinent AWS service teams, stepping in whenever necessary to ensure smooth operations.

About You:

• Bring your unparalleled expertise to the table in administering, fine-tuning, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases within the dynamic AWS environment.
• Showcase your hands-on proficiency across various AWS services, demonstrating your versatility and adaptability in navigating complex technological ecosystems.
• Demonstrate mastery in database design, SQL, and the intricate art of transactional processing.
• Exhibit a keen understanding of security protocols, particularly within AWS environments, instilling confidence in our data integrity and safeguarding measures.
• Leverage your familiarity with cutting-edge infrastructure-as-code tools like CloudFormation and/or CDK, written in the dynamic language of Typescript.
• Showcase your knack for swiftly diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving any database-related issues that may arise, ensuring uninterrupted operations.

Preferred Experience:

• Delve into the intricate world of large-scale distributed systems, showcasing your adeptness in navigating complexities and overcoming challenges.
• Bring your experience in managing substantial databases to the forefront, demonstrating your capability to handle vast volumes of critical data with finesse.
• Showcase your versatility with exposure to a range of relational or NoSQL databases, enhancing your adaptability in varied technological landscapes.
• Bring your knowledge of cutting-edge data engineering tools to the table, enriching our technological arsenal with your innovative insights.
• Demonstrate your proficiency in understanding ETL processes and associated tooling within the PostgreSQL environment, elevating our data management strategies to new heights.
• Showcase your prowess in Python, wielding this versatile language to drive innovation and efficiency across our database operations.

Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills.
