Job Description
The Senior Director, Business Development will oversee, coordinate, and participate in the management of the business development function of assigned strategic business partners in the OEM space. This role will represent Core Values by championing them with the commitment that demonstrates a true understanding of their significance - Team - Customer Focused, Accountable, Results Driven and Empowered.Â
This role requires extensive experience working in the automotive space with OEM's and large enterprise sales.Â
Responsibilities
- Manage and support new business partner strategies and relationships with OEM’s.
- Create strategic selling relationships with OEM leaders, including pricing, product, and growth of programs.
- Present regular updates to leadership and work cross functionally within Tekion to ensure success.
- Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions, removing roadblocks, promote standardization and deliver on high – impact opportunities that align with business objectives.
- Collaborate with leadership to modify programs and prioritization to enhance effectiveness toward the business result or strategic intent.
- Provide critical oversight to ensure the overall quality of the strategic project executions while minimizing and mitigating risk of assigned and prospective business partners.
- Ability to engage, lead and sell to large OEMs with a demonstrated knowledge base of the automotive industry.
Skills and Experience
- 8+ years of business development experience in the OEM space
- Automotive Business Development experience in the OEM space is required.
- 5 plus years in a lead management or director role
- Bachelor’s degree and MBA is preferred
- Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills.
- Presentation skills to large groups including C-Suite
- Solid process orientation demonstrated resource management and allocation experience with the ability to multitask.
- Self-starter and independent thinker, with the ability to work independently
- Experience working across executive and leadership levels of an OEM, automotive lender and or large auto dealer group – from C-Suite executives to functional line manager
- Understands and has been involved in complex selling and supporting enterprise level OEM solutions within the automotive industry
- Demonstrated ability to meet financial and operational targets
- Travel requirement 50%
