Job Description

What you'll do:

The core responsibilities of this position are following:
- Responsible for independently delivering Design for Reliability (DFR) in electrical product development programs without impacting the schedule.
- Responsible for influencing the design and bringing in novel ideas to not only mitigate reliability risks but also aid in optimizing product performance.
- Leads the PoF-based reliability testing for electrical products (e.g., UPS, chargers, breakers, etc.).
- Responsible for planning and conducting reliability life testing, leveraging Eaton internal test labs and external agencies as appropriate.
- Builds data analytics-based solutions by leveraging electrical/electronics products actuarial databases in the area of reliability life modeling.

- Arrests warranty defects through optimized burn-in strategies in close collaboration with respective plants and drives problem-solving methods within the organization, such as FRACAS/Shainin Red X, in new product development and/or existing product engineering."

A. Technology Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with business stakeholders to align on current capabilities from reliability domain and identify new ALT/test optimization opportunities.
• Drives initiatives to deploy the risk mitigation within the organization including deploying the problem-solving methods in the new product development and/or existing product improvements in the cross functional teams.
B. Program Responsibilities:
• Provide technical leadership on assigned business portfolio through managing stakeholder connect.
• Planning project milestones, executing milestones and hours, conducting deliverables reviews, communication with stakeholder and on-job development through technical mentoring.
• Create and/or revise Reliability deliverables such as Reliability Program Plan, Reliability Predictions, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT), Reliability Demonstration Test (RDT) for new product development programs.
C. Extended Responsibilities:
• Participate in CfRS level initiatives and contribute through solid personal value addition
• Provide guidance and technical mentoring to Engineers
D. Individual Contributor Responsibilities:
• Work with cross functional team on Design for Reliability (DfR) for NPD programs. Thus, responsible for identifying, managing and mitigating reliability risks.
• Understands project requirements and solve problems independently in discussion with local as well as global stakeholders
• Demonstrate innovative thinking and drive strong rigor in team to generate IPs (Patent, Trade Secret, Paper)
• Demonstrate continuous improvement mindset to bring value add in terms of cost, quality and schedule.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
Preferred: Masters in Electrical/Electronics/Reliability engineering.
Required: Bachelors degree with 5+ experience or Masters degree with 3+ years experience in Electrical/Electronics product reliability

Skills:

• Proficiency in DfR process like reliability modeling, goal setting, allocation, prediction, demonstration (life data analysis, growth plots & ALT)
• Proficiency in RMS standards such as MIL-HDBK-217F, NPRD, Telcordia
• Knowledge in FRACAS and reducing field/warranty data into relevant life and failure rate information.
• Desired: Relevant work experience in the field of Electronics and Electrical systems.
• Preferred: DFSS GB certified from reputed organization and ASQ - CRE.
• Experience with any industry proven reliability analysis suite of tools. Sherlock, Reliasoft & Minitab preferred.
