Position Description
We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Cloud Engineer to join a quickly growing company with a culture rooted in kindness, empathy, and customer service. In this role, you’ll be tasked with driving our infrastructure forward, building and managing a highly reliable environment, and leading the security and data integrity of our Cloud and IT Infrastructure.Â
Eleanor Health uses various technologies, including Google Cloud Platform, Google Enterprise, GKE, DBT Cloud, Tableau, Cloud SQL, Compute Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Build, Datadog, Terraform, Helm, and more. Our engineering team builds software primarily using Go and TypeScript.
Responsibilities:

- Cloud Infrastructure
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based systems.
- Optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency, performance, and scalability.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and GCP.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions for cloud systems.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve cloud service issues.
Backend Development
- Build and maintain APIs, microservices, and cloud applications.
- Work with our Data Team to design and optimize data models and queries.
- Develop secure backend systems adhering to best authentication, authorization, and encryption practices.
- Conducted code reviews and ensured adherence to software development best practices.
DevOps Practices
- Automate data pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
- Manage observability tools for performance monitoring and alerting.
- Maintain configuration management and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Security and Compliance
- Maintain and implement secure coding practices and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2).
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits for cloud applications.
- Collaborate with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities.
- Cloud Infrastructure
What we expect from you:
- 5+ years of experience in related infrastructure and DevOps leadership roles.
- 2+ years of people management experience or related leadership & mentorship experience.
- 5+ years of experience with AWS or GCP, including designing, deploying, and maintaining highly available applications using cloud technologies.
- 2+ years experience with Kubernetes and Helm.
- 2+ years experience with infrastructure, such as code tools such as Terraform, to provision and manage cloud infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of Linux, networking, system debugging, general system administration, and database administration.
- Familiarity with security practices at all levels of software infrastructure.
- Experience with application performance monitoring, log aggregation and analysis, metrics and alerting, and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience working with executive-level stakeholders across the entire organization.
- Highly motivated self-starter who can contribute individually and work effectively on a team.
- Strong written communication skills.
- High level of empathy and humility.
Benefits:
The target annual compensation range for this position is $170,000-200,000. The actual compensation offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
