The salary range for this role, based in New York is $134,320.00 to $167,900.00. The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position. 

Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy is a leader within the team responsible for transforming the way PRUSA works with its distributors through the use of technology, analytics, and processes management.

This position has 2 primary responsibilities:

- (1) governance and delivery of joint transformation programs with PRUSA’s distributor partners across a number of key business areas (digital & data, sales execution, performance management…)

- (2) business leadership of strategic commercial projects as prioritized by senior leadership.

Each of these responsibilities requires a robust understanding of PRUSA’s and its distributors’ operating models and digital strategies; cross-functional connectivity with many departments including commercial, finance, operations and marketing; and a structured project management approach focused on business value and prioritization.

Nature & Scope
 

Reporting to the Director, Commercial Strategy & Emerging Channels this position is part of the Commercial Strategy, Planning & Performance (CSPP) organization that works to coordinate commercial activities across markets. The Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy will interface with a significant number of internal and external stakeholders, including the most senior leadership of PRUSA and occasionally its distributor partners.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities

- Manage governance and delivery of joint distributor transformation programs

  • Continuously define, measure and track business value of transformation workstreams
  • Partner with distributors’ corporate strategy and sales teams to align Pernod Ricard’s commercial transformation roadmaps, objectives, resources and timelines with theirs
  • Support transformation workstreams as needed and ensure delivery of milestones based on agreed timelines
  • Lead governance forums with joint senior leadership teams to drive strategic alignment, prioritization, resourcing, and risk mitigation
  • Manage and evolve project management infrastructure (trackers, templates, etc.)

- Strategic Leadership

  • Develop clear and impactful communications to articulate Pernod Ricard’s commercial strategy and interrelated transformation initiatives for different types of internal and external audiences, at various levels of the organization (including most senior leadership)
  • Manage commercial transformation projects end-to-end from initial ideation phase through completion
  • Lead results-oriented alignment meetings to executive leadership, demonstrating achievements and progress against relevant timelines and key milestones
  • Design and develop innovative strategic frameworks for various initiatives that drive operational effectiveness and data-driven decision making

- Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and influence management skills, including the ability to challenge the status quo, advise senior executives and collaborate with other departments (US and Global)
  • Serve as subject matter expert for engagements in the areas of project management, change management/transformations, solution development, and data adoption

- Analytical Excellence

  • Own project analytics, applying logical and creative thinking to drive to fact-based insights from large datasets
  • Steer digital tool adoption initiatives to embed strategic data focus within commercial organization
  • Have an eye for the details in data and nuance of how data decisions have downstream impacts on the organization

Requirements

- Education: Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, ideally in finance, business or other analytical fields; MBA preferred.

- Experience / Background:

  • 7+ years of work experience, preferably with 3-5 years of experience in management consulting and/or corporate strategy roles. Previous commercial/distributor experience is an asset
  • Significant experience and expertise in the consumer goods and/or beverage alcohol industry
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated ability in developing materials and effectively presenting information
  • Strong leader who motivates peers and field teams to support and facilitate change
  • Strong analytical skills, creativity in problem solving, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment
  • Travel: Minimal travel expected for this position
