Job Description:
Cox Automotive is currently looking for a Senior Manager, Digital Strategists, to join our team. This is a remote, work-from-home role. You must reside in Burlington, Vermont, Atlanta, Georgia, Irvine, California or Troy, Michigan.
Your Role:
The Senior Manager, Digital Strategists is responsible for defining and executing the vision and operating plan for the Campaign Strategy team. Priority focus is ensuring the team is executing strategies and best practices to drive strong results for all OEM programs. The secondary focus is advising advertising strategy and execution, working with individual OEM account groups to identify solutions with a Cox Automotive enterprise mindset.
The Senior Manager role will provide leadership for their campaign strategists, developing and managing a high performing team who create and execute digital advertising strategies for OEMs utilizing a mix of Cox Automotive digital marketing products and services. This is a hands-on role, where the Senior Manager leads by example, acting as a coach to the team and as a consultant to their own clients. They will represent the team and provide input to the Director on projects and possible solutions. This role involves overall coordination, functional management, and leadership along with collaborating with peers in Sales, Operations, Finance, Product, Analytics, Marketing, and other departments to explore solutions for advertising campaigns and future account plans. The Senior Manager must excel at finding solutions using indirect influence across the organization; displaying diplomacy and tact to gain support and eliminate roadblocks. They demonstrate a thorough understanding of advertising strategies and tactics, media plan development, contract negotiation, a clear understanding of automotive tier programs, agency relationships, and the connection between T1, T2 and T3. This role requires competency in monitoring media metrics and identifying optimizations strategies to help drive overall results.
This position may potentially interact with multiple levels of OEM clients and resellers, as well as internal stakeholders across Dealer.com and Cox Automotive. The Senior Manager will work closely with our Product and Platform teams to ensure strategies and performance are executed at the program level for Dealer campaigns, ensuring adherence to client objectives across thousands of accounts. This position requires the ability to brand oneself successfully, develop relationships at all levels of the organization, and take ownership of departmental and cross functional initiatives. The candidate must confidently champion and lead their team through change, advocate for the unique needs of the team and clients as well as drive performance within the structure of the department.
Job Summary:
- Support alignments between Client Services and other internal departments, creating a strong network with peer groups and leaders throughout Cox Automotive.
- Communicate team progress, issues, and employee development to Director. Provide input on needs as they relate to tools, training, processes, and guidelines that enable the team to fulfill requests and to implement campaigns in a streamlined, timely manner. Communicate and share team wins, challenges, and potential solutions.
- Foster a culture of trust, team collaboration, continuous improvement, and productivity.
- Provide management to team members, helping to manage requests and workload, providing strategic and tactical direction, and ensuring adherence to best practices and client deliverables.
- Embrace and lead through change, managing team expectations and supporting projects, plans, and decisions to your team.
- Drive adoption of standardized work processes and tools, including best practices. Lead, engage, and participate in development and improvement of team and advertising operating processes and content for training.
- Monitor program performance based on both client goals and corporate financial objectives. Examples include, but are not limited to: Cost per Lead, Cost per Visit, Cost per Click, delivery, etc. KPIs will vary based on Cox Automotive product solution and client needs. Address issues with team and provide guidance as needed.
- Communicate performance to Director as it relates to revenue, retention, key risks, and opportunities with partners/clients.
- Review program performance weekly/monthly, reporting to Director and internal stakeholders' status and corrections if needed. Reporting to clients may be required from time to time.
- Work with team on program level strategies as needed to maximize adoption, improve investment, and mitigate churn.
- Collaborate with key DDC stakeholders to evaluate contract renewals, ensuring we can deliver on client requests while maintaining a healthy program.
- Collaborate with Partner+ Sales to ensure alignment on client expectations and develop new opportunities.
- Monitor and ensure that team members are managing and resolving any client issues, even if escalated to other teams for investigation. Manage and track issues to ensure accurate and complete resolution.
- Develop and maintain an expert working knowledge of all related products and services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 8 years' experience in managing digital advertising (SEM, display, social media, video, content) strategies for clients. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years' experience in a related field.
- 3+ years' experience in management or leadership role.
- Experience with a wide variety of operational-related functions including, but not limited to: project management, client and performance reporting, media planning, providing amazing client service.
- Experience evaluating and negotiating client contracts; including the management of SLAs.
- Executive level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively navigate and mediate conflict and foster honest dialogue. Able to communicate with all levels of an organization up to and including C-suite level, as required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve stressful customer situations.
- Proven experience working with remote and decentralized groups.
- Experience using Salesforce.com or similar CRM software.
- Travel (day and overnight) is required as this role will cover team members across the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven leadership in a complex sales environment with a focus on digital advertising or automotive.

Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $105,700.00 - $176,100.00. The salary rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's experience. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
