Senior Manager, Human Resources

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Human Resources to lead our human resources initiatives for our US Studios in Austin. This key position will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with our company's goals as a game developer and self-publisher. The successful candidate will manage a small team in Austin while collaborating with HR professionals across our global offices. 

Founded in 2012, Cloud Imperium Games creates cutting-edge videogames that defy expectations. We’re currently developing Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single-player adventure set in the same universe. Key Responsibilities 

• Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the company's overall business objectives 

• Oversee all HR functions for US Studios, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and benefits 

• Manage and mentor a small HR team in the Austin studio 

• Collaborate with HR counterparts in Canada, England, and Germany to ensure consistent global HR practices 

• Partner with leadership to address employee relations issues and foster a positive work environment 

• Develop and implement policies and procedures that comply with US labor laws and regulations 

• Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives for US Studios 

• Oversee employee development programs and succession planning 

• Manage HR budget and resources effectively 

Qualifications 

• Substantial commercial experience with years of progressive HR knowledge, with at least 5 years in a leadership role 

• Experience in the gaming industry or related creative/tech fields strongly preferred 

• Strong knowledge of US employment laws and HR best practices 

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work effectively in a global, multi-cultural environment 

• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving 

• SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred
