THE ROLE 

As an Senior Onsite Trading Specialist focusing on Planning & Compliance, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing our seasonal trade calendar, ensuring it aligns with overarching business priorities and budget. Reporting to the Head of Onsite Trading, your responsibilities will include managing cross-functional planning and initial briefing of quarterly and ad hoc trade campaigns (predominantly Promotions & Sale), handling promotional stock restrictions, and overseeing internal and external audit processes. You will be tasked with conducting competitor analysis and generating insightful regular promotional stock and competitor reports to guide strategic decisions.


In this role, you will manage the documentation and approvals for promotional requests, ensuring they are in line with our business strategy and channel effectiveness, while also navigating stock restrictions and promotional mechanics. Your expertise in cross-functional collaboration and experience in driving public presentations/walkthroughs will ensure that all trade activities are meticulously aligned with our corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage the cross-functional planning and initial briefing of a seasonal trade calendar, ensuring alignment with business priorities and budget. This involves considering available stock and potential strength of the offer, incorporating competitor analysis, and gathering feedback from local and global teams. Coordinate, document and report on available promotional stock for seasonal campaigns and other channel categories in close collaboration with Business Development, Account management teams, Campaigns Execution and Trading.
  • Responsible for successful pre- and post- campaigns launch quality control.
  • Oversee documentation and approvals for all incoming promotional requests from both local and global teams. This includes thorough understanding of each request in relation to current business strategy and planned commercial calendar, available budget, channel effectiveness, stock restrictions and required promotional mechanics.
  • Oversee the governance of promotional budget and tooling access, ensuring that processes and evidence documentation consistently meet regulatory requirements. This includes responsibility for regular internal and external audit walkthroughs.
  • Report on the direct and indirect competitive landscape and identify strategic opportunities.
  • Analysing and reporting on KPIs to measure success, identify potential efficiency improvements, and determine solutions for at-risk areas.
  • Responsible for ongoing optimisation of internal documents, processes, and tooling by applying project management techniques and automations.
  • Responsible for coaching and developing junior members of the team and providing relevant support to the broader team.
  • Act as a role model for the team and initiate, encourage and facilitate positive change.

  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills, and are comfortable in facilitating the meetings and presenting to senior stakeholders using data and insight to explain decisions.
  • You are a data-led thinker with experience working with business intelligence tools and Excel, using analysis and insights to evaluate performance, and developing data-led strategic recommendations.
  • You have experience of leveraging and integrating technology and automation to maximise performance.
