Senior Principal Product Manager, Media

Intelsat connects 2 billion viewers worldwide and 6,500 channels via satellite. The portfolio of products uses the IntelsatOne teleport services and terrestrial fiber and IP network to transport video, audio and associated data content between media customers, Intelsat teleports, key media hubs and partner networks. These products and services are used to provide solutions for our customers to connect to the evolving Intelsat satellite network. In this role, you are responsible for taking the products from through the development process and managing the performance after launch. You are a crucial linchpin between customers/sales and numerous internal groups within the organization. Intelsat is developing a next gen architecture including cloud and value-added media solutions to provide additional value for our customers in getting their content from source to destination. You are key to ensure that the product line is meeting the requirements and needs of existing and future customers while delivering against targeted corporate-level performance benchmarks.
Are you up to the challenge?

• Define and Deliver Managed Service Product Portfolio: Lead development and execution of competitive strategies for media Managed Services product offerings to generate growth and new revenue streams from Intelsat's customers. Articulate these strategies via product and go-to-market plans to appropriate internal and external forums. This position will work closely with the Product Commercialization, Market Strategy and Development, and Marketing teams to identify new product offerings and provide end to end product management.
• Sales Support: Provide commercial and operational support to Sales and Customer Solutions on Managed Media Services customer opportunities including liaison with Business Management and Network Engineering to evaluate and propose commercial strategy including messaging, pricing, and value proposition. Provide continuing education for Customer Solutions and Sales including updates to the IntelsatOne network.
• Product and Portfolio Management: Manage pricing, terms and conditions, and deployment of media application services based on demand and competitive market intelligence.
• Flexibility: Be willing to learn new technologies and processes, manage products through the product development process communicating requirements to impacted internal and external teams, and provide assistance and expertise for new customer opportunities.

You should definitely have:

• A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or similar discipline with
• At least 7 years of hands on Product Management experience in a business to business environment. (An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the stated minimum education and experience requirement).
• Product development experience taking products from ideation through development, launch, and lifecycle management.
• Media ecosystem experience taking media content (broadcast, streaming) from source to destination through the use of cloud (AWS, Azure, Google), contribution, production, playout, CDN, OTT, and data analytics applications or tools.
• Satellite and Teleport experience.
• Technical proficiency to successfully collaborate with Engineering on the development milestones and service documentation.
• Solid understanding of business proposals and financial concepts.
• Proven experience in Project Management in a matrix management environment.
• Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally up to 20%.
• Proficiency to analyze research and provide conclusions impacting product and business plans.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain and influence internal and customer working relationships at all levels.
• Experience in building and maintaining internal and external technical and, business relationships.
• Effective writing and verbal communication skills required, along with the ability to make effective presentations and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
