Job Description
System1 is looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the MapQuest business line. We're in search of a leader who wants to redefine how people interact with geographic information and their experiences navigating the world. This role will be responsible for leading Consumer products through close collaboration with several auxiliary teams.
MapQuest was launched in 1996 in Denver, Colorado, where some team members still reside today. Our mission is to empower people & businesses to find what they need and how to get there! We do this through localized search content and routing features. Today, MapQuest, through the power of System1, is stronger than ever helping people exactly like it did 20 years ago!
The ideal MapQuest team member is highly motivated, technically adept, passionate about mapping experiences, and has the ability to think from a user's perspective.
The Role You Will Have:
- Contribute to a product strategy and roadmap with insights based on deep understanding of the consumer base, business objectives and market trends.
- Be an advocate for our consumers and the overall health of the product.
- Propose and design new features and functionalities, assess their effectiveness, and iterate promptly.
- Own the backlog of tasks and scrum meetings alongside project management and technical stakeholders.
- Write detailed product requirements which include design specifications, analytics considerations and have MVP foresight.Â
- Have a proficient understanding of website architecture and how APIs work.Â
- Using SQL and advanced analytics skills identify opportunities in user journey, marketing or ad network data.
- Communicate proactively with senior stakeholders. Examples include, gathering requirements, establishing trusting relationships, learning about their specializations & opportunities therein.
- Guide and execute the optimization strategy for a variety of monetization streams including sponsored search ads, PPC and impression based advertisements.Â
- Lead the experimentation queue alongside data analytics and product design.Â
- Partner with product design on user studies and UI/UX tests with the goal of enhancing user journey pain points and driving bottomline success.Â
What You Will Bring:
- 5+ years of product management or equivalent experienceÂ
- Experience with SEO best practices
- Experience with digital advertising practices
- Experience designing or working with API products is preferred
- Experience with designing user flows and consumer facing features is preferred
- Ability to influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority
- Experience in SQL, Tableau (or other data visualization tool), Excel, Google Analytics, etc.
- Experience in consumer research and insights, both qualitative and quantitative preferred
- You continually question the status quo and challenge assumptionsÂ
- You have a sense of humor!Â

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $138,400 -$192,300 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed in U.S. role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
System1 offers flexible work arrangements for most employees (unless they hold positions which are identified as having to be 100% onsite in Marina del Rey, CA, Bellevue, WA or Guelph, ON Canada). Most System1 full-time employees choose to work in a hybrid environment, splitting their time between working in our offices and working remotely. System1 allows fully-remote work in the following approved locations: Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Prospective U.S. employees who live outside of any of these states will need to establish residency in one of the approved states prior to employment.
