Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Product Test Engineer responsible for the management and implementation of in-house testing used to validate WiTricity’s next generation Electric Vehicle (EV) wireless charging products and vehicle sub-systems.
Based at our HQ in Watertown, MA facility, we are seeking candidates with the following experience:
- Design & development of test fixtures, comprised of electrical, mechanical, software sub-systems, as well as tools for data collection, debugging, and analysis.
- Experience interfacing with internal and customer teams to understand performance testing requirements, coordinate testing activities, manage dependencies, track status, and communicate test results.
- Work closely with the Reliability Engineering team to develop and maintain new test procedures that align with industrial shifts and regulatory requirements.
- Thoroughly document all stages of work, ensuring clarity and traceability throughout the testing process.
- Working independently in a fast paced, highly technical environment with concurrent projects.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop test fixtures used for WiTricity’s EV Wireless Charging Products and sub-components including:
- User experience (UI) and installation on-boarding process
- Mobile phone application, WiTricity Cloud with OCCP & Data Collection, and Operator Portal
- Develop Test Requirements and Test Plan documentation based on input from Product Management and Design Engineers. Generate test reports.
- Manage the flow of testing according to test requirement, resource availability, and internal stakeholder needs.
- Provide input and recommendation on test equipment purchases as well as external suppliers developing custom built systems used within the test environment.
- Provide technical support to others on the design and test execution teams utilizing test fixtures.
- Collaborate with WiTricity NPI and Contract Manufacturing in development of manufacturing test fixtures with the goal of leveraging product test fixtures in manufacturing where possible.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
- BS in a technical field required. Electrical Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience performing QA and/or testing of products consisting of electrical, software, and mechanical content.
- Experience writing detailed test plans and specification based on product requirements ensuring traceability.
- Proficiency with LabVIEW and Python; Experience with bug tracking systems such as JIRA preferred.
- Experience with quality systems such as ISO9000 preferred. Experience in automotive preferred.
- Must be able to work effectively with cross-functional, global team members from design and development, product management, and customer support.
- Must be hands-on in and comfortable in a product lab environment.
- Role requires being onsite with occasional flexibility for WFH.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
