Job Description

As a (Senior) Robotics Software Engineer for our Robotics team, you will be involved in the development process from the very first idea until the final product launch. We combine minimally invasive surgery with the art of engineering to facilitate user’s existing needs and to provide new possibilities and functionalities for tomorrow. For our multi-disciplinary team consisting of software engineers, project engineers as well as hardware designers, we are looking for a motivated Software Engineer, who contributes positively to our existing culture and is passionate about developing advanced surgical technologies.

As a (Senior) Robotics Software Engineer in this role, you will

• be involved in the agile development process from the very first idea until the final product launch
• design, implement and test control algorithms for robots that assist surgical interventions
• create kinematic and dynamic models for new robotic manipulators.
• implement algorithms for optimal path planning and collision detection/avoidance
• apply your knowledge to a collaborative robot that operates hand in hand with surgeons
• use your programming skills in Rust to implement the algorithms and participate in the development of a real-time capable embedded software system on a low level
• document software design and verify the development
• work closely with your international colleagues from different departments

Qualifications

• You have an education in Robotics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent working experience
• You have strong problem-solving skills including the ability to research scientific papers and apply their concepts in practice
• Experience and deep knowledge of robotics algorithms and control theory
• Experience in Rust, Embedded Linux, ROS, Gazebo, Matlab or C on embedded systems is desirable
• Experience in working with version control systems (Git)
• You want to be part of a high-skilled team and make a difference with your code every day
• Fluent English, eagerness to learn German and ability to communicate with colleagues from all around the world and different areas of specialty complete your profile
