You will be joining the Demand Tech team, which specializes in building traffic filtering technologies deployed to a combination of AWS and on-prem data centers. Our platform prioritizes the highest value ad requests at scale. With 700+ billion daily transactions, a 1% improvement in ad request prioritization impacts 7+ billion transactions daily.
What you will be doing:
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will work closely with the developer and operations members of the team to assure the stability, scalability and observability of the platform. There is a 100% shared responsibility model for the on-call rotation and tasks related to the care and feeding of the systems we own. We are an established and long tenured team who have built our platform on AWS EKS and on-prem Kubernetes across multiple serving centers around the globe. We are looking for people who are interested in new technologies to help us face the challenges of migrating existing and future platforms into Kubernetes.

• Design, build and implement cloud native ways of provisioning and running the stack.
• Continuously evaluate and improve monitoring via Prometheus.
• Help identify and improve automating workflows via Git Ops and Github Actions.
• Interact with cloud and on-prem k8s via Terraform, Helm, and Argo.
• Be critical of current practices and advocate for improvements.
• Innovate and demonstrate better solutions for current implementations.

Our current tech stack:

• Scala for core development
• Spark Structured Streaming, Kafka, MapR, Kubernetes, Airflow, Mesos, and Marathon for data ingest and machine learning
• Combination of Terraform, Helm, and Argo for Cloud-based Kubernetes deployments
• Puppet and some Ansible for on-prem automation
