Senior Operations Engineer – Linux/Unix

PAREXEL Enterprise Infrastructure is seeking a motivated Senior Operations Engineer – Linux/Unix to join our global team. Significant experience required with Linux Operation System technologies focusing mainly on build out, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our platforms and infrastructure. You will become part of a diligent team of engineers that support infrastructure solutions that host mission critical applications on-premise and in the cloud.  Qualifications:

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineer, or a related degree
• 5+ years working with various Linux/Unix Distributions (RedHat, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Solaris)
• Highly organized and have clear, concise communication skills.
• Ability to function in a Global organization with a flexible and dynamic team environment.
• Significant experience with scripting / automation technologies (Terraform, Ansible)
• Significant Experience in Managing Linux servers (Satellite, Oracle Linux Manager)
• Experience in managing Virtual Machines in Azure
• Experience with VMWare ESXi
• Experience in scripting, and software package management and deployment.
• Experience with Linux/Unix patch management processes
• Experience with Data Protection solutions – CommVault a plus
• Experience with Disaster Recovery Strategies and Technologies- Zerto a plus
• Windows Experience – a plus

Key Accountabilities: 

• Responsible for technical management, operation, and maintenance of Server infrastructure
• Adheres to hardware/software technical standards, especially related to installation, configuration, management, and maintenance of systems.
• Keeps IT management abreast of any changes across multiple technologies which may impact business decisions.
• Propose, create, and contribute to system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to other team members and teams.
• Ensure all knowledge base documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Technical point of contact for Linux/Unix Server issues- Troubleshoot and fix technical faults and issues.
• Ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of systems that support core organizational functions.
• Monitors key system parameters to ensure optimum performance and maximum system uptime is being maintained for essential systems.
• Required to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Respond to queries and issues via ticketing system.
