The Senior Type Designer will work collaboratively with our worldwide font production team in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment. Products developed will support the various business units within the company. The formats to be created include, but are not limited to, OpenType, PostScript, and TrueType. What you’ll be doing:

• Design original Korean typeface families, and possibly Latin or other non-Latin fonts
• Run client meetings and communication, establish design brief
• Design and digitize high quality letterforms including kerning, using commercial and proprietary font tools
• Achieve high quality standards with few reworks, act as a resource for editing others’ work
• Effectively utilize type development tools to achieve desired requirements in the timeframe expected
• Assume additional responsibilities as needed to support customers, both internal and external
• Adhere to established departmental procedures and meet scheduled deadlines
• Effectively communicate with necessary support groups (Engineering, Product Marketing, Technical Support and Sales) to meet customer requirements and technical specifications

What we’re looking for:

• BA/BFA or equivalent experience as well as proven experience in a design related computer environment
• Fluent in Korean & English.
• A type design portfolio representing an awareness of typography and an appreciation of aesthetics and technical design consideration
• Advanced drawing, design, and lettering skills by hand or on computer
• Proficiency in using an industry standard font editing tool. GlyphsApp is preferred, but knowledge of RoboFont or FontLab Studio will be considered.
• Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Strong technical communication skills including the ability to write clearly and precisely
