Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Social Performance & Resilience Project Manager. The qualified candidate is preferred to be located in the northeastern US - such as Philadelphia, New York Metro, and Boston. AECOM is seeking a dynamic individual meeting the criteria below, at a minimum; an experience project manager who works well with others and is comfortable in small or large groups; and who can prepare high-quality technical documentation/reports. The qualified candidate should possess both an understanding of the nuances and cultural requirements of this type of work, coupled with a technical understanding of the comprehensive services AECOM provides as related to equity, environmental justice, and climate resilience needs. Responsibilities and skills will include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Advise on, conduct, and support the preparation of large complex environmental justice impact assessments.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more of the following areas: environmental justice, environmental health, social vulnerability, equity, ESG reporting and accounting.
  • Help to manage the environmental justice team's projects with intentions of being a project manager.
  • Fully qualified scientist. Utilizes scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Requires general familiarity within a broad field of scientific knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Utilize and interpret relevant screening and mapping tools related to environmental justice and equity.
  • Work under only general direction. Independently determine and develop approach to solutions.
  • Solve problems by use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  • Participate in planning to achieve prescribed objectives.
  • Conduct analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sources.
  • Formulate hypothesis, perform independent research and make recommendations.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Public Health Science, Environmental Health, Environmental Epidemiology, other science, or engineering field +6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
  • Basic understanding of geographic information systems (GIS)
  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in a science or engineering field with 3+ years of experience support environmental justice policy decisions and equity evaluations.
  • Project Management experience and interest in becoming an AECOM Certified PM
  • Outstanding oral communication, written and presentation skills.
  • Consultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills.
  • Physically located in the northeastern U.S. metropolitans (such as Philadelphia, New York City Metro, and Boston)
Additional Information

  • Relocation is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
Offered rate of compensation for New York will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $92,000 - $165,000.
