Job Description

HII-Technical Solutions Division (TSD) is looking for a mid-level Software developer with experience in Human machine interface design and development in their Annapolis Junction, MD.

Huntington Ingalls Industries is the nation's largest Shipbuilding for the US Navy. The project is responsible for developing a Virtual Display Unit that integrates Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) SW supporting Program Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Health & Monitoring (HMS) capabilities for shipboard propulsion systems.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems using real-time embedded software and user interfaces. Coordinate with customer representatives and senior SW engineers to develop secure SW architecture. Provide Software configuration control, quality assurance has security hardening in accordance to DoD Secure Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGSs). Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Experience with Agile development methodology
• Experience with C, C++ and Java in a real-time embedded software environment.
• Clearance: Most possess and maintain at least a Secret security clearance.
• A new Federal Executive Order requires that employees of Federal contractors and subcontractors be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by December 8, 2021. Accordingly, as a condition of employment with Technical Solutions, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, employees will be required to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or submit documentation to be considered for and be approved for an exemption based on disability or sincerely held religious beliefs under the law.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience within with Programmable Logic Controllers and related monitoring systems
• Experience with security vulnerability scanning tools

Physical Requirements
Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements Software Engineer family.
