Our Solutions Engineering team at Vultr is looking for a Solutions Engineer who will play a significant role in growing the business via presales engagement of target accounts and within specific opportunities. The ideal candidate is collegial, collaborative, and excited to lead customer engagements as a Technical Subject Matter Expert. They will help grow Vultr’s capabilities by assembling Technical Resources such as Reference Architectures and White Papers. They will also present the Voice of the Customer for new feature requests and bug fixes to Product Management and Engineering. Our team’s mission is to extend Vultr’s lead as the premier Cloud Infrastructure Provider and we believe that delivering compelling alternatives to Hyperscalers enable our customers’ growth and success. What you will take on:

• Engage collaboratively with customers to understand their challenges. 
• Create innovative Solutions and Architectures to solve complex Customer use cases. 
• Establish relationships within Customers independent of Account Executives.
• Educate customers on the value that Vultr provides and expand their horizons about the art of the possible. 
• Participate in deep architectural discussions and design exercises to create world-class solutions at Vultr. 
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to deliver Voice of the Customer to guide continued future customer success. 
• Partner with Marketing to create reference architectures, white papers, workshops, and demonstrations for internal and external uses. 
• Travel 15-25%

• Skilled at influencing, guiding, and facilitating stakeholders and peers with decision making
• Ability to articulate technical and business concepts to diverse stakeholders. 
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to dig into unfamiliar territories to solve complex problems. 
• Subject Matter Expertise in Cloud IaaS including but not limited to Cloud Compute, Cloud GPU, and Bare Metal Servers. 
• System level understanding of x86 server hardware architecture and Linux OS. 
• Demonstrated experience with Compute Orchestration technologies including Kubernetes, Terraform, VMWare, Rancher, etc. 
• Comprehend global internetworking and local networking infrastructure and concepts including OSI Model, Dynamic and Static IP Routing, BGP, VLANs/VXLANs, Peering, Network as a Service Providers. 
• Storage experience, knowledge of performant multi-user offerings including Open Source and COTS options. 
• 4+ years of Solution Engineering - Sales Engineering experience
• 6+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructure experience

Compensation

Base $120-135k / OTE $160k - $180k
