The Impact of a Leadership Learning and Development Sr. Director to Coupa:
The Senior Director, Leadership Learning and Development is a strategic role with accountability for designing and developing programmatic solutions for building leadership capability, enabling employee career development through skill building, brings to life talent development strategies, design programs to enhance the organizations culture and is responsible for the onboarding of new employees and development of programs, policies, and guidelines to support a common Employee Experience. This position promotes a culture of learning, curiosity, and continuous improvement across the company.
This role will provide high level support to the senior leadership of the company by ensuring that our development programs support the attraction, development, and retention of the talent we need to deliver on our strategic plan. This position works collaboratively with HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence and Business Leaders through consultation to understand learning opportunities and develop engaging solutions to close those gaps and prepare our employees for future needs.
What You'll Do:
- Accountable for partnering with HRBPs and business leaders to understand opportunities and developing, planning and execution of company-wide leadership learning and development strategies to address opportunities and advance our talent
- Ability to assess where the leverage is for learning and development and resolve challenges with structured approaches.
- Ability to work backwards from a workforce plan and the strategy plan to guide the development of curricula to meet future needs
- Responsible for developing a multi-year along with a near-term strategy and roadmap for the TalentEDGE team
- Partner with the leader for Talent Development and HRBPs to develop implement job rotation program that brings to life career pathing model and provides real time development opportunities for individuals to develop new skills and realize critical experiences within Coupa
- Develop and lead the change management and communications efforts to support the roll out of new resources and create sustainable, well managed programs and processes by applying discipline in simplicity and scalability
- This position will partner with the leader for Organizational Effectiveness to provide change management consulting support for critical business initiatives and partner with the Talent Development leader to support the deployment of talent programs
- Accountable for the development and ongoing evolution of the Employee Experience strategy including but not limited to: Employee Engagement, Rewards & Recognition, Connections, etc.
- Partnering with Workforce Analytics and HR Business Partners to translate survey results into actionable plans for execution at the enterprise and business unit levels
- Consulting with HRBPs to understand and prioritize programs targeted to provide a consistent employee engagement experience globally
- Ability to motivate the team to high performance while caring for their well-being
- Leading and/or contributing to company and enterprise projects as appropriate. Internal Consulting and Collaboration
- Keeping abreast of shifts in learning approaches, emerging trends and best practices to proactively optimize our approach to learning and development
- Evaluating the impact of initiatives to ensure that desired outcomes are achieved, and sharing lessons learned to continually improve processes and adjust as necessary based on feedback
- Collaborating closely with HR Business Partners and cross-functional teams to contribute to the continuous improvement of our learning programs, systems and processes
- Ability to prioritize learning efforts and effectively develop and allocate resources to meet the approved timeline
- Coordinating with key stakeholders to identify and define appropriate metrics and partnering with workforce analytics to design always-on, monthly, quarterly and annual dashboards to track movement in target metrics to influence change
- Building effective and meaningful partnerships with key stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of their unique needs, expectations, concerns and capabilities. Use adaptive communication techniques and strategies to motivate and influence stakeholders
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- Seasoned professional with 10+ years of progressive, relevant experience in senior level Learning & Development roles including working successfully with senior leaders
- 10+ years of experience in client consulting and facilitation
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering leadership development programs at all leadership levels within a global organization
- Proven track record of creating, maintaining, and enhancing cross-functional relationships and communicating effectively with senior management
- Strong technical agility; ability to evaluate, implement and/or learn new technology or systems to enhance capacity for learning and measuring utilization across the organization
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and judgement
- Excellent ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization and maintain trust with senior and executive level stakeholders
- Proven ability to drive towards desired outcomes and achieve results amid ambiguity
- Willingness to be hands on and operate effectively independently, while being part of a highly collaborative team
- Strong capability to operate effectively in multi-cultural/international environments and to work with a variety of leaders from different backgrounds and experiences
- Strategic mindset with excellent analytic and problem-solving skills with ability to take a thoughtful data-driven approach to develop meaningful and practical solutions that are simple yet effective
- Proven coaching, facilitation, and presentation skills at all levels, including senior leaders
- Experience managing and LMS and designing e-learning and blended learning programs
- Customer-focused working style with a collaborative approach to partnering with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Strong communication skills (written and oral) with an ability to take concepts and express them concisely and effectively for all levels across the organization
- Demonstrated leadership experience, leading teams and leaders
- Demonstrated experience translating and communicating complex topics in easy and approachable ways
