Team Overview

As a member of the Target Conversation Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in developing an in-house conversational platform that serves the entire Target ecosystem. Our focus is on leveraging powerful and innovative technologies to create seamless interactions, whether for guests, vendors, or internal team members.

Our platform will incorporate tools such as chatbots, designed to provide users with immediate answers to their queries and facilitate automated actions. By streamlining these processes, we aim to minimize manual effort and drive significant cost savings for the organization. Position Overview

As a Senior Engineer, you are a vital specialist in the engineering team supporting our product. You translate architectural concepts into concrete designs and influence their implementation, applying software engineering patterns to create robust, scalable systems.You will evaluate emerging technologies, lead research and proof-of-concept initiatives, and manage product lifecycles and financial forecasting. Your responsibilities include conducting code and design reviews, testing, and debugging, while ensuring compliance with architectural best practices.You will facilitate functional design discussions, participate in implementation activities, and provide technical oversight, helping resolve complex issues. Additionally, you will lead disaster recovery efforts and embed security and data quality protocols throughout the data lifecycle.

About you:

• 4 year degree or equivalent experience
• 5-7 years of software development experience such as Java , Kotlin , Micronaut , Python , Nodejs.
• Writes and organizes code using multiple computer languages, including distributed programming and understand different frameworks and paradigm.
• Has good understanding and experimented on latest GenAI technologies with respect to Prompt Engineering, Models ,OpenAi APIs , Tools and LLM frameworks such as Langchain , Llamaindex.
• Working knowledge on package-specific configuration and deployment along with ability to build custom solutions
• Designs new testing methods and resolves routine and non-routine technical issues with minimal assistance
• Builds strong commitment within the team to support the appropriate team priorities
• Delivers high-performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure deliverables with broad impact (high throughput and low latency)
• Demonstrates strong domain-specific knowledge regarding Target's technology capabilities, and key competitors' products and differentiating features
• Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
