As a Sr. Controls Engineer at Mujin, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing control systems for our advanced industrial automation solutions. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless integration of hardware and software, ensuring the efficient operation of complex robotic systems. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop control system architectures for Material Handling equipment and robotic applicationsÂ
- Design, program, and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and motion control systemsÂ
- Develop and optimize control algorithms for robotic movements, safety features, and precision tasksÂ
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and communication protocols to enhance robotic performanceÂ
- Conduct system testing, validation, and commissioning to ensure reliable and efficient operationÂ
- Provide technical support to field service teams during installation and maintenanceÂ
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in controls engineeringÂ
- Complete the commissioning of complex systems that integrate hardware and softwareÂ
- Experience in understanding schematics and control panels, translating conceptual designs into practical engineering solutionsÂ
- Provide recommendations for productivity improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced customer satisfactionÂ
- Create material specifications, prepare schematics, and follow up appropriatelyÂ
- Generate recommendations for productivity improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced customer satisfactionÂ
- Guide overly complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer related to system design and product applicationÂ
- Apply advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently, including developing innovative solutionsÂ
- Display a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and cross-functional problemsÂ
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or comparable engineering degreeÂ
- 7+ years of successful experience in related field for controls engineersÂ
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens)Â
- Proficient in AutoCADÂ
- Willingness to travel up to 35% of the year, as required by project demands, allowing you to provide onsite support and engage with customers effectively
