We need talented DevOps/Build software engineers to further the tremendous success of the IP Routing product family. What you will learn and contribute to

We are seeking a highly motivated DevOps/Software Build Engineer.

Come join a small team whose job it is to keep the product developers as productive as they can be. We customize and deploy open-source tools on Linux for software development and continuous integration. We also write our own tools using scripting languages (perl/python) and shell scripts.

Tools that we develop and manage include a large GIT repository mirrored to multiple sites, custom bug tracking system, custom continuous integration system, static code analysis tools, gcc compilers, gnu make infrastructure, debuggers, load-build.

Your skills and experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 + years of experience in a relevant DevOps/Build position
  • Good knowledge of systems administration and the Linux platform
  • A strong foundation in revision control systems (ideally GIT), build processes, user management and release/branch management
  • Person should have experience designing and developing CI/CD pipelines using any recent technology Jenkins/Gitlab/GitHub whether as a SW developer or in DevOps
  • Person should have experience with virtualization technologies Dockers/Containers, Namespaces, etc.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python/Perl, Bash.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IP network fundamentals, including network architecture, routing protocols
  • Advanced operating system fundamentals, including kernel operations, scheduling, memory management, semaphores
  • Data structure and algorithm fundamentals, including use cases, order of complexity, performance analysis
  • Ability to delve into pre-existing source code with little guidance and to switch context rapidly is paramount
  • Experience with some of the technologies/languages that follow: JavaScript, Java, Ansible, MySQL, Docker, Apache, Nagios, CGI, WSGI
  • Ability to work independently and a high level of personal drive.
  • Ability and drive to collaborate with rest of the team to research, design, develop, and implement load-build features and enhancements.
  • Ability to influence, guide, and reinforce the adoption of standards and processes across the development teams.
