Description
The Senior MySQL DBA will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical MySQL RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our client applications. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and sustainment of the MySQL Environment, ensuring its operational readiness (security, health, and performance), executing data loads, and performing data modeling in support of multiple development teams. 
Candidate should also be able to manage multiple client workloads and be able to recommend technical solutions to solve a myriad of customer challenges. 
Requirements 
Required Skills: 5 – 10 years of experience performing:
• 5 years minimum MySQL Database production support, installations, and upgrades
• Backup/recovery of various SQL Server databases of different versions
• Backup/recovery of other Microsoft technologies/applications
• Database/application monitoring and alerting
• Performance reviews, tuning, and remediation
• AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud deployment and support experience
• Break-fix and patching
• Participate in project activities, prioritized in collaboration. 
• Design, Implementation and Support of High Availability Cluster Solutions 
Preferred Skills:
• BS or BA in Computer Science or Business Management
• AWS Aurora is a plus.
• Postgre SQL is a plus.
• SQL Server is a plus.
• SSIS, SSRS, Data Factory, PowerBI, or comparable DW and reporting tools
• Spark, HDFS, and Polybase scale-out groups
