Providing for loved ones, planning rewarding retirements, saving enough for whatever lies ahead – our policyholders count on us to be there when it matters most. It’s a big ask, but it’s one that we have the power to deliver when we work together. We collaborate and innovate – pushing one another to transform not just Pacific Life, but the entire industry for the better. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do. Pacific Life is more than a job, it’s a career with purpose. It’s a career where you have the support, balance, and resources to make a positive impact on the future – including your own.

We’re actively seeking a talented Senior Private Equity Associate to join our Private Equity Team in Newport Beach, CA. This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.

As a Senior Private Equity Associate, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by analyzing and evaluating private equity co-investments. You will fill a new role that sits on a team of eight people in Pacific Private Fund Advisors LLC, a SEC registered investment advisor wholly owned by Pacific Life.

How you’ll help move us forward:

  • Diligence, reference, model and analyze private equity co-investments for both Pacific Life’s General Account and for third party investors
  • Evaluate investment opportunities based on qualitative and quantitative factors; apply a relative value analysis and a risk/reward framework
  • Prepare written reports and internal presentations on due diligence findings
  • Discuss recommendations for investment opportunities with the PPFA team
  • Monitor existing portfolio co-investments by tracking the progress and performance of the underlying companies

The experience you bring:

  • 5-7 years of investment experience with private equity fund/co-investment underwriting experience
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field
  • Master’s degree or CFA a plus

What makes you stand out:

  • Familiarity with the private equity landscape, particularly in the middle market buyout space
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills

You can be who you are.
