At a Glance:
Responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and procedures to analyze, verify and prepare financial information and account reconciliations and assist in audits. Working under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgement, the Staff Accountant II prepares standard and specialized financial reports and/or records according to GAAP and other regulatory requirements. Partners across teams to compile and analyze financial information and support our International Operations.
Work Type: Remote, Hybrid or In-Office; will require 1-2 in office meetings at Tulsa HQ monthly
Location: Tulsa, OK
This position is expected to be filled in the greater Tulsa, Oklahoma area.
What you will do:

Responsible for month-end close procedures, including preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and analyses of results
-
Ensure transactions are appropriately documented, recorded, and comply with company policies and accounting standards
-
Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances promptly, collaborating with relevant departments or subsidiaries when necessary
-
Assist with internal and external audits of the company’s quarterly and annual financial statements, including preparation of audit schedules, and responding timely to auditor questions and requests

Obtain an understanding of established internal controls and accounting policies and procedures and effectively improve, maintain, and enforce such controls, policies, and procedures

Participate in the identification and implementation of improvements to accounting processes

Perform other special projects and analyses as directed by management

What you need:
-
Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting
-
2+ years of related accounting experience to reflect the skills necessary for this role
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
-
Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles
-
Experience with general ledger function and the monthly/annual close process
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (such as Excel and Word)
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Excellent organizational skills and time management skills

Not a must, but a plus

Public accounting experience
-
CPA or CPA track
-
Experience with Alteryx, Blackline, Microsoft Power Suite, or Oracle
-
Experience in the oil and gas industry
-
Experience with publicly traded companies and SOX control requirements
