Overview

EXPLEO USA is currently looking for Stress Checker to join our team for an exciting new opportunity in Wichita, KS., United States.

The successful candidate will join the Aerostructures Design area and will be integrated into structural design team, applying cutting edge technologies in composite structures and the most modern procedures for Aeronautical Design. The area is responsible of the structural design and integration of major airframe components.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform product definition, team working with an AGILE methodology, adding value developing the Structural Design solutions and also troubleshooting in production and in service issues.
  • Design and Validation of composites/metallic components and assemblies that are optimized in terms of weight, cost, performance, production/assembly requirements while the highest safety of the Product is assured.
  • Structural definition and architecture of Airframe components.
  • Components Documentation for Manufacturing and mechanical assembling.
  • Planning and follow up of structural design deliverables.
  • Components Specification for purchasing.
  • Interfacing with external customers, partners and suppliers and communicating with corresponding stakeholders in design reviews, test reports and Project follow-up meetings.
  • Requirement challenging.
  • Checking and approving of analysis, prepared by other team members.
  • Components selection, sizing, specification and practical application.
  • Assessment of material technologies and strength capabilities.
  • Documents revision & edition.
  • KPI Generation, Documentation Plan & Status Report.
  • Support cross-program configuration control and cross-functional procedures.
  • This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or Industrial (Mechanics)
  • 7 to 10 or more years of professional experience as Aerospace Stress Engineer.
  • Experience in static analysis of aircraft structural components and good understanding of F&DT concepts (Airbus methods and tools would be preferable)
  • Preferably already on the development path to gain Airbus signatory delegation or ability to do so in short duration.
  • Broad range of standard hand and computer methods. (e.g.: ISAMI, GFEM, DFEM, etc)
  • Understanding of Certification requirements and experience with stress dossiers
  • Finite element method / finite element analysis (FEM / FEA)
  • Sound knowledge of structural design principles, aircraft loads and aircraft structures
  • Very good analytical and reasoning skills
  • Committed in their own development to learn new skills and willing to take on Technical Signature Delegation.
  • Self-motivated, proactive team player. Ability to liaise/negotiate with design, stress, and customer services
  • Tools: Patran/Nastran, Hypermesh, ISAMI (preferred), AF-Twin, NASGRO, SAFE, DAMTOL
