Position Overview:
As an EHS Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in environmental health and safety practices within our organization. This internship offers exposure to various aspects of EHS management and provides valuable insights into the field for individuals pursuing a career in occupational safety and health or a related field.
Here are some of the EXCITING things you’ll get to do:
- Assist with the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs under the guidance of experienced professionals.
- Conduct inspections and audits of facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Support incident investigations and contribute to root cause analyses to prevent recurrence and improve safety performance.
- Assist in the development and delivery of EHS training programs for employees to promote awareness of safety practices and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address EHS-related concerns and integrate safety considerations into business processes.
- Assist in the maintenance of records and documentation related to EHS activities, including incident reports, training records, and regulatory permits.
- Participate in environmental monitoring and sampling activities to assess and mitigate potential environmental risks.
- Support the coordination of emergency response drills and activities to ensure preparedness for accidents or emergencies.
- Stay updated on relevant EHS regulations, standards, and best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Undertake special projects and assignments as directed by EHS managers to gain exposure to various aspects of EHS management.
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently attained a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in environmental health and safety.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment or by oneself.
- Basic knowledge of EHS regulations and principles is preferred but not required.
Relevant Experience:
- Previous internships or coursework related to environmental health and safety is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software tools.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic very fast-paced work environment.
- Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
- An ability to gamify safety training to make them fun, entertaining, and engaging!
- An ability to think differently to bend and flex to meet the needs of the organization.
- Unwavering integrity but you should also be fun and personable.
