Surgical Scheduler Position Summary

The Surgical Scheduler's primary function is to secure clinical, demographic and financial patient information to accurately pre-register and schedule surgical procedures, diagnostic and therapeutic outpatient procedures under the direct supervision of the office supervisor/manager. The Surgical Scheduler pre-registers patients in the EHR system to enable pre-procedure certification; identifies scheduling barriers and implements solutions; has proper clinical/insurance information for patients; assists with scheduling post-procedural care, and additional office-specific tasks as instructed.

Surgical Scheduler Position Requirements

• Previous physician office experience required.

• Experience with electronic health record, medical terminology highly preferred.

• Experience in insurance verification, medical billing, collection and registration preferred.

• Familiarity with medical diagnostic procedures preferred.

• Computer experience and keyboarding (typing) required.

• High School graduate or equivalent required.

• Four month on-the-job-training

• Monday through Friday, Day Shift
