Job Description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Merit Medical is looking for a System Administrator that has a good amount of experience with Virtual app/desktops and Backups solutions. We are looking for someone that can help us manage those solutions. They will be working with Citrix and CommVault to ensure they are running as expected. This person will ideally have a System Admin background in managing Microsoft servers, Virtual solutions, SANs and so on. This is a hybrid work from home and onsite position. Candidates must be able to come into the office as part of this job.

HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT A DAY COULD BE LIKE IF JOINED MERIT MEDICAL

• Manage our Citrix environment
  • Ensure we maintain our licenses
  • Ensure the management servers are patched and current
  • Permissions
  • Manage Virtual apps and desktops
  • Manage the farm
• Manage our backup solution
  • Patching the solution
  • Fixing failed jobs
  • Tape rotation
  • Ensure the schedule is current
  • Perform audits to ensure data is not being missed
• Great trouble shooting skills
• Ability to manage projects as assigned
• Ability to coach employees at remote sites
• Ability to document work done and for other IT employees to review as needed

SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Educational experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and ten years' work-related experience
• Experience Microsoft Server Operating Systems
• Experience VMware experience - other virtualization technologies helpful
• Experience understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies
• Experience with SAN architecture
• Solid understanding of backups, Online backups tape backup systems
• Experience with Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity design and execution
• General networking knowledge and experience with LAN, VLANs and WANs
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others
• Create and streamline IT processes and procedures for HQ and remote sites
• Must be available to be part of on call rotation
• Ability to work as a team member
• Collaborate with team members to improve and optimize systems and resources
• Excellent organizational skills
• Current driver's license
• Current/able to get international travel documents
