Tax Manager

About the Role

As Tax Manager, you will be an essential member of the accounting and finance team at Beyond Finance. This position requires someone with meticulous attention to detail, the highest ethical standards, and the ability to clearly communicate complex tax information to individuals across various departments. This role requires a solid foundation in federal, state, and local tax regulations and a passion for financial operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in an environment of rapid change; will have excellent organizational skills; work effectively within cross-functional teams; be highly resourceful and deliver under tight deadlines.

What You'll Do

• Lead all tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations.
• Develop tax strategies and advise management on tax implications of business operations
• Monitor tax legislation and assess impact on business operations.
• Manage and maintain a comprehensive filing schedule for all state and local tax filings, ensuring deadlines are met and compliance is achieved.
• Collaborate with our public accounting tax firm, to prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns.
• Manage tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
• Manage the preparation and filing of 1099 forms to ensure compliance with IRS regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline tax processes and enhance efficiency.
• Ensure relevant internal controls are in place for the accounting and finance operations.
• Identify process improvements and assist in the implementation of relevant process change, policies and procedures; to enhance the existing control environment.
• Have a strong knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws and regulations.

What We Look For

• Bachelor (B.A. /B.S.) or master’s in accounting, finance or other related discipline
• Master’s in taxation a plus
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification required.
• 5+ years’ experience progressive tax experience in public accounting or corporate tax
• In-depth knowledge in tax codes, laws and regulations
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism
• Audit or professional tax services experience will be a plus.
