About the role

As UAT Lead you are responsible for managing User Acceptance Testing for Quarterly Releases and other key deliverables. You have the responsibility and authority to stop releases that do not meet the quality requirements. You continuously work to improve the way Cognite works with quality assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the product and customer success organizations as well as other stakeholders to define what should be covered in the User Acceptance Test for a given release
• Create the UAT test schedule and assignments
• Ensure there is a “demo project” in Cognite Data Fusion that is used for validating the UAT and that can be used to demonstrate the released features
• Follow up on UAT test progress, ensure blockers and delays are resolved in a timely manner
• Report on UAT test results and follow up on problems identified by testing to ensure resolution or mitigation before release
• Validating that test coverage requirements are met for all released features according to the service maturity definition.
• Monitoring and reporting on regressions found after release, identifying hotspots where quality improvements or increased test coverage is required
• Continuously improve the way of working with quality assurance

• Customer expectations are met for new features, including end-to-end functionality, usability and quality
• Customers trust Cognite’s platform and apps for mission critical applications

Key qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 3 years leading UAT efforts
• Proven track record of managing end-to-end UAT cycles for complex software products 
• Strong understanding of secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) and testing methodologies
• Experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems
• Excellent project management skills
• Strong stakeholder management experience, particularly working with Product teams and end users
• Experience gathering and documenting user requirements and acceptance criteria
• Demonstrated ability to write clear test cases and testing documentation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with industrial companies, either as a vendor or working for one
• Knowledge of test automation principles and frameworks is a plus
• Experience delivering data- or developer platforms is a plus
• Experience working with global organizations and teams is a plus
