VP of Engineering

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly experienced VP of Engineering to lead our engineering efforts and drive innovation within Xsolla. The VP of Engineering will report directly to the CTO and will be responsible for leading the Engineering team and all the Directors of Engineering will report to this role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing large-scale engineering projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and lead a distributed team of engineers across global locations.
• Develop and implement the engineering strategy to align with company goals and objectives.
• Develop plans and implement then to ensure 4 9s availability of our services 
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the Engineering Director and engineers.
• Ensure the implementation of best practices in software development, including security, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as Product Management, Customer Success, Product Marketing, and Operations, to ensure alignment and support for engineering initiatives.
• Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of engineering staff.
• Monitor and report on the engineering teams' performance, using metrics and KPIs to drive improvements.
• Work closely with international stakeholders to coordinate efforts and ensure seamless collaboration across time zones and cultures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong background in software development and engineering principles.
• Experience managing distributed teams across multiple locations.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Strong management skills, with experience in Agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make high-stakes decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Sottware Engineering.
• Experience in scaling engineering teams and managing large-scale projects.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and services.
