Job Description
As part of the IT Center Open System Run Team you will be working on different – mainly internal – projects for IBM in Germany and IBM world-wide. The IT Center Open System Run Team operates several Websphere systems. Depending on your assigned projects you might be working closely with our Networking team Linux team Windows team and with the z/OS Enterprise Systems team.
Your Role and Responsibilities
The major project is called ECuRep a support data repository and debugging systems for the IBM support organizations world wide. Besides normal system administration tasks each team member is responsible for one or more technical key aspect of the team tasks. This includes leading a sub project preparing release or version changes but also acquiring new competencies for the team.
The ideal candidate should have strong AIX background and administration skills. Being a good team player but also can work independent from the team to drive service projects at customer locations. Why is this a great opportunity for you?
The IT Center is operating all major IBM platforms plus Linux Windows VMWare & Citrix. In our projects we run many different applications. Our main project ECuRep requires all platform teams to work together.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Websphere Services Skills:
– install periodic security Updates
– implementation an new version of WebSphere(communicate and manage customer contacts/communication)
– setting requested Security Settings
– SSL enablement
– switching off unneeded services
– setting logging or reporting in WebSphere
– general Configuration Support
– Ensure ITSS (security) compliance
Non Technical Skills & Requirements:
– fexible Teamplayer
– English: Fluent
– Availability during German standard office hours
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
– German language knowledge is an advantage
– Individuals must be located in one location to enable efficient team performance and continued backup
– EU residents are preferred (not a hard requirement at the moment but might become one)
– Websphere Application Server Liberty administration
– Good overall understanding of Websphere-Application and REST APIs and management especially session
management
– Liberty Container based deployments of applications
– Performance monitoring and management of Websphere-Applications
