Job Description

Company Description

Meridian is the largest producer of renewable electricity in Aotearoa, and we strive to deliver clean energy for a fairer and healthier world. We only generate electricity from 100% renewable resources – wind, water, and sun, because we believe that’s the best way forward for our planet and our communities. And, we’re doing what we can to help Aotearoa reduce their carbon emissions and support others in our generation communities to do the same. We also retail electricity to more than 365,000 homes, businesses, and farms across New Zealand through our Meridian and Powershop brands.

Job Description

What you’ll be doing

This role is responsible for ensuring the effective co-ordination of site-based activity across a regional Generation portfolio to enable the delivery of an achievable plan that maximises the capacity of our assets and makes best use of our team capability and availability.

This role is the part of our works planning & scheduling team that forms the key link between our customers and the Generation sites and the teams that serve them.

As the Work Coordinator you’ll work collaboratively with our Maintenance Teams, Projects Team, and Site Owner to identify constraints and optimise work schedules across Meridian’s North Island Generation sites. This role supports several sites and as such it preference is to be based in Wellington or at one of the Generation facilities. Building strong relationships with the teams you are supporting is vital and location play a big role in building those relationships.

Other accountabilities include:

  • Coordinate and schedule all planned activity (maintenance and project) across regional sites.
  • Facilitate the updating and improved accuracy of job plans and planned maintenance schedules
  • Support the development of short, medium, and long-term planning & scheduling activity.
  • Schedule work (with support from other teams) to ensure generation plant outages are optimized
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and external contractors to ensure that that all work packages are adequately and effectively planned so that production downtime is minimised.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with proven experience of maintenance planning and scheduling within a dynamic industry environment. You’ll come from a heavy engineering or production maintenance background, with experience in managing or coordinating work under time pressure (e.g. during plant or equipment outages/shutdowns).

Other key requirements include:

  • Excellent planning, coordination, and work management skills.
  • You must be able to effectively work and build relationships with a diverse range of people, across the organisation and with external parties.
  • Highly developed problem-solving skills and the ability to think clearly under pressure.
  • The ability to identify and evaluate relevant information to support sound decision-making.
  • Computer literate and proficient with the use of Microsoft packages.
  • Familiarity with a Computer Maintenance Management System (e.g. Maximo or SAP) would be an advantage but not essential.
