Qualifications All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-12/09/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. BASIC REQUIREMENTS Applicant must meet one of the following Basic Requirements for the 2210 series by the close of the announcement: Degree: Possess a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or technology management, or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks. Note: You must include a copy of your transcripts if you select this option. -OR- Experience: Must have Information Technology experience that demonstrates all of the following competencies: 1) Attention to Detail-thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail; 2) Customer Service-works with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information and assistance, resolve problems; knowledgeable about IT products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services; 3) Oral Communication Skills-expresses information to individuals and groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; and 4) Problem Solving-identified problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives and to make recommendations. -AND- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS In addition to the Basic Requirements listed above, the applicant must also possess at least one of the following minimum qualification requirements: Experience: One year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the Information Technology (IT) field or through the performance of-work where the primary concern is IT. This experience includes activities such as: Configure, deploy, and manage workstations, servers, storage devices and appliances, backup hardware and software to the existing or additional customer base and infrastructure. Support, configure and manage virtualized environments. Troubleshoot complex problems. Develop standard operating procedures, how-to and user documentation. Provide advice and assistance to customers on a wide range of IT relates issues and provide support in a manner that minimizes interruptions in customers' ability to carry out critical business activities. You must list number of hours worked per week in your resume. -OR- Education: Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, orhave such a degree that included a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. (One year of graduate education is 18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours). Note: You must include a copy of your transcripts if you select this option. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work. If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
