Summary
About the position: This position will be assigned to the Hillberg Ski Area on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK.
This is a Flexible position not to exceed (NTE) May 15th, 2025.
This position is also Flexible, meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Your schedule will depend on needs of the facility.

This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and one every three years thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have the ability to operate, control, and maintain snowmaking equipment and heavy powered machinery. Knowledge and experience in the ski industry is desired. Must have the ability to assist in determining the need for repair and servicing of snowmaking equipment. Requires basic knowledge and skill in the use of tools of the trade. Must be able to lift, bend, and work in awkward positions both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and heavier with assistance. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license. Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
