This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Incumbent serves as a Detective with Department of Army, Installation Management Command, located at Fort Irwin, CA. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training. Incumbent must be able to obtain and sustain state certification for operating the NCIC terminals. Must Comply with and maintain the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP). Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons. Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training. Incumbent may be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton. Incumbent will be required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual physical agility test (PAT). Must wear the Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) uniform IAW AR 190-56, maintain a high state of appearance and hygiene. Employee must obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors. Must not have any medical condition that precludes the wearing of a chemical protective mask and over garments. Employee must be able to perform as a member of the installation's overall security response capability. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator's license. Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience which includes: conducting investigations on committed crimes; collecting evidence from crime scenes; preparing reports to be used during the judicial process. The experience must have provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
