Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing laboratory animal care required to transport, prepare, and position animals for surgical procedures; assist veterinarians and surgery team members; and to administer medications and drugs. Use sterile operative techniques needed to prepare research animals for surgery; assist veterinarians and surgical team members; to clean, calibrate, and maintain surgical equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
