Reporting directly to the Team Lead of Category and Development and partnering closely with Sales, Marketing and Production, this position will take the lead in creating tools for the IFG Sales organization to use in order to optimize their selling process and increasing opportunity for volume growth. The Category Manager will build relationships with different departments and be an expert on the health of the business. This position will coordinate the sales reporting and assist the sales team on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop and maintain data designed to trend and track application and volume trends to ensure high risk business is identified.
- Create brand and category stories that will help facilitate sales growth and drive insights .
- Communicate within the sales organization to support corporate objectives and budget targets.
- Provide support in determining financials goals for the brands represented.
- Utilize IRI, ShopperSights, EYC, Spins and along with other available databases in order to understand the current business and identify future opportunities.
- Advance impactful category analyses and consumer insights using a range of syndicated and non-syndicated data sources.
- Lead in pulling, analyzing data with ability to turn into insights stories and sell materials.
- Support the sales team in customer presentations, meetings, and providing expertise within the data.
- Serve as subject matter authority regarding consumption and shipment data.
- Support Team Lead in developing annual budgets, tracking to ensure targets are met.
- Coordinates with Forecast Analyst to ensure forecast accuracy and align with trends.
- Partner with marketing and other cross-functional departments to share or provide insights about the brand, category and retailer's specifically.
- Ensure all reporting is maintained and accurate for maximum usage and implementation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE) - Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) preferred or 3-5 years' experience in the CPG field.
- High level of comfort with computer systems and the ability to quickly learn how to operate specific systems, i.e. IRI, Blue Planner, Tableau, Micro Strategies, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to travel 20% of the time
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE) - Strong ability to read, analyze and interpret industry data (IRI, 8451, EYC, SPINS, etc.).
- Ability to communicate and work optimally across functional groups.
- Strong ability to think strategically and translate data into insights.
- Expertise in Microsoft Windows Office Suite applications.
- Ability to build reports, business correspondence, and procedure sales materials.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from cross-functional departments and leadership.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of college algebra.
