This intern position support to end users for either PC, server or mainframe applications and hardware and receives work experience in a dynamic IT environment within one of the top US regional Workers’ Compensation management groups. Summit Consulting LLC, headquartered in Lakeland, FL, is a super-regional Workers’ Compensation insurance management company operating in fourteen states throughout the Southeast and Southwest United States.

This intern role includes working with Summit’s Helpdesk team to:

• Responds to telephone calls, emails, and other requests for technical support
• Simulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties
• Interacts with network services, software systems engineering and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct problems
• May recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems
• Performs other duties as assigned

Desired qualities:

• Dependable, self-motivated, goal-oriented, strong analytic ability. Able to apply critical thinking and multi-taking skills.
• Prefer a junior or senior with ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
• Preferred field of study: Information Technology, Computer Science, or related
• Approximately 6-8 weeks
• Housing is not provided.

The person hired for this position will work out of the Lakeland, FL office which offers a hybrid work environment of 2 days in the office and 3 days work from home.
