IT Servicedesk Summer Internship

Are you intrigued by the idea of providing resolutions to technical problems?  Then the IT ServiceDesk Intern role may be the job for you!  The IT ServiceDesk Intern position supports the Gas South IT & PMO department with resolutions to entry-level end-user calls and improves overall response time to Helpdesk tickets.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, and electronically.
• Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues.
• Research questions using available information resources.
• Advise users on appropriate action.
• Follow standard helpdesk procedures.
• Log all helpdesk interactions.
• Escalate complex issues to the appropriate resource.
• Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention.
• Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions.
• Setup end-user hardware such as PCs, monitors, printers, keyboards, mice, and phones.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:                                                                                            

• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor' Degree in Computer Science, or another related field.
• Computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft OS and Office Suite applications.
• Basic hardware troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and work with multiple computer systems.
