Job Description

Position Summary:

Provide Server Administration on Windows Server and Red Hat Linux platforms, and Desktop Administration on Windows 10 and Red Hat Linux platforms for the U.S. Army's Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC). Provide support in all areas of installation, configuration and setup, integration, testing, deployment, RMF tasks, complete documentation, and management of the Application Architecture's hardware and software, mission applications and/or systems, and any other software tools specified by the tenant organization Performance Certifier or his/her designated representative.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and servers in support of business processing requirements.
• Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
• Schedule installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
• Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
• Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
• Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
• Support media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services. Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
• Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
• Develop and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation. Ensures the reliability and performance of the application.
• Schedule installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
• Responsible for file maintenance, control, and product support and facilitates change control, problem management, and communication among architects, engineers, and analysts. Develops appropriate application and process documentation.
• Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required.

Qualifications:

Hugh School Diploma plus 5 years experience.CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) Server 2016, Microsoft Windows 10 MCSA Certification or Microsoft Installing and Configuring Windows 10 Certification. Red Hat Linux Administration Certification is preferred.

The Candidate must be able to obtain and hold a SECRET clearance.
