Job Description
You would join our team on an FTC basis. For this role you need to have experience working on in-game lighting, ideally on a project working with Unreal Engine 5.Â
- Collaborate with artists, designers, and programmers to create high-quality lighting solutions and atmospheres for games using Unreal Engine 5
- Develop and implement lighting styles that enhance the visual appeal of characters, environments, and special effects
- Optimize lighting setups for performance and memory usage while maintaining visual quality
- Create custom shaders and materials as needed to achieve desired lighting effects
- Work independently to solve complex lighting challenges and collaborate with other teams to resolve cross-functional issues
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders about progress, challenges, and solutions related to lighting design
- Manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality in your work.
- Experience as a Lighting Artist or similar role in the game industryÂ
- Expertise in Unreal Engine 5 or equivalentÂ
- Strong understanding of colour theory, composition, and visual storytelling principles as they apply to lighting design in gamesÂ
- Proficiency in using industry-standard tools such as Maya or 3ds Max for modelling tasks related to lighting setup creationÂ
- Familiarity with art analysis for regular improvementÂ
- Photography or cinematography experience is an added advantageÂ
- A background in fine arts is desirable but not requiredÂ
