Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Able to perform the full range of complex maintenance tasks requiring the application of journeyman level skills in machinery repair, carpentry, sandblasting and painting, pipefitting, equipment operations, concrete maintenance and repair. Able to apply a high order of skill to determine reasons for and making corrections to mechanical defects and performance problems. Know and compare the governing safety practices and procedures. Operate heavy equipment to include but not limited to: overhead cranes, skid steers, dump trucks, aerial lifts, and forklifts to safely and accurately maneuver supplies and materials to accomplish repair, replacement or creation of projects.

- Physical Effort: Makes repairs on equipment or in installations often on high or hard to reach areas from ladders or platforms. Is required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds and operates equipment.
- Working Conditions: Works outside the majority of time in all types of weather. Is subject to injury by tools, equipment, flying debris, and similar objects. Is exposed to mud, dirt, dust, chemical compounds, high noise levels, burns, and fumes. Is subject to danger of falls and drowning while working on moving equipment and structures over or on water. Works behind bulkheads below water level, characteristically works on or adjacent to water. Occasionally works at heights over 30 feet.
