As the Mobile Engineering Manager of the Mobile Retention team you will be responsible for managing a team of iOS & Android engineers working on the Dropbox apps. You will work within an Engineering Product and Design triad to shape the roadmap set direction and ensure strong execution. You will play a crucial role in helping the mobile apps to meet the needs of our customers overseeing critical functionality such as the ability to preview content. As the mobile org is a small and tight community this role includes outsized impact and an ability to influence the critical Dropbox business.

Responsibilities

Lead a team responsible for critical business metrics delivering impactful projects on time and measuring their impact

Navigate complex business landscapes working with key partners in EPD (Engineering-Product-Design) & Data Science to find new opportunities to grow the mobile business

Many teams at Dropbox run Services with on-call rotations which entails being available for calls during both core and non-core business hours. If a team has an on-call rotation all engineers on the team are expected to participate in the rotation as part of their employment. Requirements
-
Minimum of 3 years of people management experience
-
Minimum of 5 year as a software engineer mobile developer or equivalent technical experience
-
Experience managing mobile teams with the mobile app development cycle and with the Google & Apple app stores

Experience managing engineers of different experience levels in different countries (and time zones)

BS MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g. physics or mathematics) or equivalent technical experience
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Swift or Kotlin
