LOCATION

IFG Companies is hiring in Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, North Carolina and on a case-by-case basis in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia. Applicants must reside in one of these states to be hired. Remote and flexible work arrangements are provided to all employees based on manager approval.

SALARY RANGE

The expected salary range is $65,000 to $90,000 and subject to change at any time at the discretion of the Company.

POSITION SUMMARY

With supervision monitor and maintain day to day AAIS and ISO admitted filing process. Coordinate filing inquiries and objections for Department of Insurance (DOI) regulators. Maintain archival and recordkeeping systems for each product filing to allow for their re-creation for legal and DOI inquiries. Monitor legal and regulatory filing issues. Coordinate SERFF training as needed for designated employees. Provide ongoing filing support for existing admitted products. Initiate and manage filing process for IM Property Coverage (IMPC) and Garage/Auto Dealers and other admitted products as the need arise. Monitor regulatory, legal and industry initiatives to improve products and ensure profitability. Monitor and participate in industry trade association activities to become an advocate for industry issues that support corporate initiatives. Assist Line of Business (LOB) with the development manuals rates and rules. Coordinate filing process across all functional areas on filings.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • SERFF Filings Administrator:
    • Manage day to day administration of SERFF and archival system, including user and company authority, and filings' budget.
    • Work with VP and Director of Product Management for product and business filing allocations for new and revised products. o Proof read forms, rules, and rates filings and edit for finalization to support LOB.
    • Preparation of rate support, side by side comparisons, and state mandated forms or materials for filings.
    • Manage submissions and respond to objections and questions. Develop and implement amendments to address state specific regulatory requirements.
    • Consult with and advise management of changes and impact, and advise IT and LOB.
    • Ensure implementation, tracking and electronic record management
    • Develop and maintain filing budget, and coordinate continuous costs with PMD VP and Accounting for filing, market research or related programs
    • Coordinate SERFF and SERFF archival training of designated personnel
  • In conjunction with developers monitor and analyze ISO and AAIS form changes to determine product impact and make recommendations for the adoption. At direction of management conduct market research on competitor forms, rules and rate filings strategies. Coordinate with LOB, Actuarial and PMD on product filing strategy.
  • Monitor ISO and AAIS form changes to make recommendations for the adoption to PMD LOB owner. Conduct market research on competitor forms, rules and rate filings strategies. Coordinate with LOB, Actuarial and PMD on product filing strategy.
  • Master PMD systems, processes and procedures, including but not limited to, Forms Management System, release process, and manual change request.
  • Develop working knowledge of Grow and Phoenix and assist with the implementation. Assist LOB with the transition from Bobcat to Grow system to assist speed to market initiatives.
  • Participation in IRES and ISO initiatives or training if available. Build relationship with state regulators who handle the day to day filing issues to facilitate the filing process. Participation in designate industry regulatory committee activities.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of ISO and AAIS product changes. Analyze and identify the potential impact to IFG products and update IFG products through filings needed to ensure compliance and protect the company's best interests. Advise PMD and Actuarial staff on documentations needed to complete filing exhibits. Coordinate responses and objections to DOI inquiries across appropriate functional areas.
  • Analysis of competitors and the regulatory landscape, along with the effectiveness of our own products and rates, to optimize our competitive position and compliance is critical. Coordinate research with Legal on multiple states' laws for product compliance in preparation of product development. Correspond and negotiate with regulators on new, proposed, or existing laws or interpretations as it impacts our company filing operations.
  • Assist Actuarial, PMD, and LOB with competitor form, rate and rule location and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned by PMD management.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education and insurance experience
  • Previous experience with Commercial Property and/or Casualty rate, rule and form filing experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • A natural inclination to understand complex projects and their component pieces, and to share knowledge with others, both in the office and in the field.
  • The ability to collect input from various sources; analyze it, refine it, consolidate it and present it to senior level management staff personnel in a format that will permit quick review and action.
  • Ability to learn SERFF (System for Electronic Rate, Rule and Form Filings) and state mandated filing process
  • An understanding of commercial insurance concepts, coverage, and underwriting
  • Ability to use Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word or other databased applications and proprietary system.
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of staff and management
  • Strong writing and highly developed communication skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and timely manage large volumes of work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands are considered to be that of an office environment, climate controlled, with minimal physical exertion. This position requires prolonged sitting, ability to utilize a computer and interactions with others meetings or via phone.

Ability to travel as necessary for business reasons.
