Job Description

In the role as Program Manager you are a strategist, always finding the right balance between delivering a high-quality service on time and on budget, while identifying new business opportunities through cross- and upselling. You are also a team player, not only with the teams you lead directly, but all teams across the company and the clients you engage with. You are focused on project goals and persistent. You can create and adapt the best solutions to a given project or a given context as the variables shift.

You will report to the Delivery Management Director. This is a hybrid workplace in our Frankfurt or Munich offices.

Main responsibilities

• You manage and overlook sizeable projects/programs ensuring on time, on budget and quality deliveries, according to Client requirements
• You manage project teams to ensure team members feel happy, coordinated and supported in their professional growth
• You manage project/program teams and clients across different geographies and time zones (including external suppliers and 3rd parties)
• You have client-facing experience including middle / senior management
• You provide executive and operational reports on the project goals
• You project financial and operational management
• You drive the project delivery methodology
• You lead project engagements with clients and manage the technical, operational and business needs within these, while handling and resolving conflicts and aligning the expectations.
• You are an advisor to the client
• You identify business opportunities within our client, project or related services, channeling these internally across the company (farming – up-selling and cross-selling)
• You work closely with solutions and business development teams and other delivery centers
• You may also provide support on commercial proposals / pitches from time to time
• You are involved in mentoring other Merkle project leads
• You are involved in the Delivery Management team internal activities and projects

Qualifications

• You have fluent German and English language skills, written and spoken
• You are a senior Project / Delivery / Program Manager, who can lead teams spread across different geographies and time zones, and you are open to travel
• You have 8+ years of project leadership experience, including delivering and leading large projects or medium sized programs or multiple small/medium projects, including from the consultancy world
• You are proficient in project management methodologies – Agile and traditional – and can coach others
• You like coming up with solutions, have a sales and business mindset and love working with (international) teams.
• You are a role model in your actions and performance, and a pro at relationship management at all levels.
• You hold a relevant university degree or other higher educational background
